Hina is a Japanese-Canadian lighting designer based in Metro Vancouver and Southern Ontario. She grew up dancing classical ballet, and is very excited to join the Kidd Pivot team as a lighting director. Her work as a lighting designer is primarily in theatre and dance, with companies such as Bard on the Beach, Belfry Theatre, Touchstone Theatre, The Search Party, and A Wonderheads Theatre. She has also worked as a lighting programmer at venues such as the Vogue Theatre, Hollywood Theatre, the Vancouver Club, and corporate events in Vancouver. She has apprenticed and assisted several established lighting designers around Vancouver at companies such as Bard on the Beach, Vancouver Opera, Vancouver Asian Canadian Theatre, Arts Club, and Theatre Replacement. She holds a BFA in Theatre from the University of Victoria, with a specialization in lighting design and production management.
