Reviews

“Her style is influenced by her time with William Forsythe, but her choreographies have their own language: mercurial and full of power and humor.”

Journal Frankfurt

“… a quiet dance style, with meditative sounds lapping at its edges, full of elegance, grace and intimacy that doubles the phrases like shadow theater and reveals its ballet heritage in its flowing gentleness and emotionality.”

Frankfurter Neue Presse

“Altogether, the dancers are fantastic. Pure joy to watch them in their artistic ecstasy of movement… Dreamily beautiful, misty images on an empty black and dark stage.”

“NOTES FROM CRYSTAL PITE

The four works presented in The You Show come out of my fascination with familiar storylines of love, conflict and loss, and the body’s role in providing the illustrative shape of those stories. The body can convey profound meaning through the simplest of gestures, and the analysis of familiar human action provides an opportunity to recognize and re-frame ourselves in each other. I want the performance to connect with you and your own body. I invite you to locate yourself in the dancer, to recognize your own dramas translated into fierce physical language, and to see yourself falling and flying as the hero of your own existence. Life, whether you are superhuman or simply human, is epic.”
